The Birth Sling – Hire Agreement

1. Hire Details

• Standard Hire Period: 4 weeks (28 days)
• Refundable Bond: $50.00
• Hire Fee (4 weeks): $60.00
• Additional Week (7 days): +$20.00

Bond Return: The refundable bond return will be issued within 5 business days once the Birth Sling has been returned complete and undamaged, to the card used for payment. Additional processing time may apply for card payments.

2. What’s Included in Your Hire

Your hire includes:

• 1x Birth Sling

• 2x Arm Slings

• 1x Door Anchor

• 1x Beam / Branch Anchor

• 1x Carry Bag

• 1 pack ‘Birth Sling Labour Positions’ cards

Colours may vary slightly from digital representations and are subject to availability.

3. Safety

Use of the Birth Sling is undertaken at the hirer’s own risk.
Mother Mother Doula (Sarah Del Borrello) is not responsible for birthing outcomes, personal injury, or misuse of the sling.

Safety Requirements:
Based on manufacturer guidance, the user must:

• Have a steady gait

• Be able to support themselves without assistance

• Be able to call for assistance if needed

• Keep both feet on the ground at all times

• Never use the sling as a swing (manufacturer’s explicit warning)

• Ensure the sling is securely installed according to manufacturer instructions, with a safe anchor point capable of supporting the required load

4. Contraindications

The Birth Sling should not be used if the user has:

• Ruptured membranes without engagement of the fetal head

• Unstable blood pressure, impaired balance, or any condition affecting safe upright posture

• Altered mentation (e.g., dizziness, faintness, impaired awareness)

• Any condition requiring bedrest or restricted mobility

5. Hirer Responsibilities

The hirer agrees that:

• The Birth Sling will only be used by the person named on this hire form.

• All safety requirements and contraindications will be followed.

• The sling will be returned on or before the agreed return date.

• Return of the sling is the hirer’s responsibility.

• If postage is required, tracked shipping must be used at the hirer’s cost.

• Additional weeks of hire are charged at $20 per week, subject to availability.

• No refund will be issued if the sling is unused or the hirer changes their mind.

6. Late Returns, Loss, Damage & Replacement Costs

Late Returns: Late returns will incur fees deducted from the bond.

Loss or Theft: If the sling or any included components are lost or stolen, the hirer will be charged the full replacement cost: RRP $210.00

Damage or Missing Parts: Damage, contamination, or missing components may incur additional:

• Cleaning fees

• Repair fees

• Replacement charges (up to full retail value)

Contamination (Biohazard Waste): A sling must be discarded if grossly contaminated. This includes when the item is:

• Saturated or dripping

• Caked with bodily fluids

• Able to release blood/fluids when compressed

• Able to flake or shed dried bodily fluids

In these cases, the full replacement fee will be charged.

7. Returning the Sling

Unless noticeably soiled or contaminated with bodily fluids, the sling should be returned unwashed.
Mother Mother Doula sanitises all equipment between hires.

If cleaning is required (light soil only):

• Low-temperature hand wash

• No bleach

• Do not tumble dry, Air dry only

8. Liability and Indemnity

Mother Mother Doula (Sarah Del Borrello):

• Checks each sling for cleanliness and function prior to hire

• Does not guarantee outcomes associated with sling use

• Is not liable for injury, adverse events or incidents arising from use or possession of the Birth Sling

By hiring the sling, the hirer agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Mother Mother Doula (Sarah Del Borrello) from any claim, loss, injury or damage associated with the use or possession of the Birth Sling and all accessories.

9. Agreement

By proceeding with a Birth Sling hire booking, the hirer confirms they have read, understood and agree to all terms and conditions outlined in this agreement.
