Hey Photographer,

Chances are you're reading this because you follow me on socials and have seen the callout for a creative group maternity session. I’m putting together something really special, and I’d love for you to be part of it!

If you're looking to know more about the event, how I'll be selecting models, and what the mums attending will receive, you can check out the details here: MODEL CALL APRIL/MAY 2025– EMPOWERING & DREAMY GOWN PHOTOSHOOT

Essential Event Details

📅 Date: Thursday, 1st May 2025

Time: 3:45pm - 6:30pm (+ dinner invite TBC)

📍 Location: Mandurah Studio (final location TBC)

This is a studio-based session, offering a dynamic mix of styled lifestyle sets and a formal studio section. That means you’ll have access to a huge variety of spaces to play with – from soft and dreamy to clean and editorial – making this a perfect chance to diversify your portfolio in one shoot.

How to Attend: Content Photographer (ticketed)

🎟️ Investment: $100 per ticket (only 4 spots available)

💼 Bonus: Don’t forget to keep your receipt for your tax deductions!

As a ticketed content photographer, you’ll have full access to the session and be able to take as many photos as you’d like. This is a portfolio-building opportunity, where you can get creative and experiment with different styles, lighting, and compositions. You’ll work with a diverse group of women, all dressed in my collection of stunning gowns (see them here: Client Wardrobe - Mother Mother Doula & Photographer).

However, this is not a teaching session, so there will be no structured guidance from the main or secondary photographers. You’ll be free to work on your own, but collaboration is encouraged. Photographers may want to buddy up with others to get the most out of the session and potentially swap roles, such as taking behind-the-scenes footage or capturing headshots for each other. You will get some guidance prior to the session, and I will be available for questions and support afterwards.

Expectations for Content Photographers:

  • You’re free to take as many photos as you like for personal portfolio and marketing use, but you cannot sell any of the images.
  • You’re welcome to gift your images to the models, but you must not charge them for it. Images you provide to the models should be edited high-resolution files without watermarks. You will be provided with contact details of the models so you can share images with them if you wish.
  • Once the main and secondary photographers have captured their shots with a model, they’ll be directed towards you for additional images. You may pose and direct the models, but please be prepared to step aside as needed when the primary photographers are ready for more shots.
  • You must supply your own camera and necessary equipment and sign a contract with me (the event host).
  • You must act professionally at all times, respecting the flow of the session and not interrupting the main photographers.

Bonus: Networking Dinner

If you decide to join us for the session, you'll also be invited to dinner with the other photographers after the shoot. I'll book a table at a casual restaurant (most likely Catalano's in Baldivis) so we can reflect, connect, and recharge before heading home.

Please note, you will be responsible for purchasing your own food and drink. If you plan on having an alcoholic drink or two, please ensure you have an appropriate way of getting home.

Other Important Information

What happens after I send the application form?

  • Ticketed Content Photographer slots will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Once you submit your application, you’ll receive a booking form, contract, and invoice. These must be completed within 1 week of receipt to secure your spot. If not completed in time, your spot will be given to the next person in line.
  • Paid Photographer roles will be finalised by Monday, 14th April (hopefully sooner). If you apply for a paid photographer role, you’ll be contacted via email about the final selection. If selected, you’ll receive a booking form and contract to sign. You will also need to send an invoice for your initial payment ($50) and a second invoice after the session when the images are received ($100). A tax receipt will also be required for my records.
  • If not selected for a paid role, you will be placed on a cancellation list. If a selected paid photographer cannot attend, you may be offered the spot!

If I want to tag the models in images on social media or send them photos, how do I do that? I will provide you with the names, emails and social media handles of the models after the event.

What if I definitely want to come, and I'd like to apply for a paid role, but if I'm not successful, I'd like a ticketed content spot instead Please indicate this preference in the contact form. I will do my best to accommodate you and reserve a ticketed spot for you in case your paid role application is unsuccessful.

If I am selected for a paid role, how do I send you the images? My preference will be for you to cull your RAW files prior to sharing them with me. This means using a digital platform such as Google Drive, Pixieset or WeTransfer is the preferred method. If you don't access to these options other methods are shooting with one of my SD cards in a dual slot camera or transferring the files to a USB immediately after the event.

What if the weather looks terrible on the day of the event? Weather-related reschedules are always possible, especially as we approach the colder months. In the event of unsuitable weather (e.g., heavy rain, high winds), the session will be rescheduled. I will notify all photographers and models as early as possible. The reschedule date will be based on the nearest good weather day and the primary photographer’s availability.

  • If you can no longer attend, you will receive a full refund for ticketed spots.
  • For paid photographers, any fees already paid will need to be returned if you're unable to attend the rescheduled session.

Will refunds be offered for ticketed content photographers for reasons such as illness or injury? If you are unable to attend due to illness or injury, please inform me at least 48 hours in advance. If I can fill your spot from the cancellation list, you will receive a full refund. If you provide less than 48 hours’ notice or I cannot fill your spot, you will receive a 50% refund.

Does this mean there will be a cancellation list? Yes, there will be a cancellation list. If you apply but are unable to join the event, you will be placed on this list. If a spot becomes available, it will be offered to the next person in line.

Will I receive detailed information about the event, such as exact location, a timeline and what to bring? Absolutely, the event timeline (including exact schedule and location details) will be sent to all participating photographers via email no later than one week prior to the session. Please ensure that you review this email carefully and let me know if you have any questions or concerns ahead of time.

I have a question that isn't covered here, how can I ask it? We've likely already chatted over social media, so get in touch that way. If not, please send me an email at hey@mothermotherdoula.com
