1. Hire Details

Standard Hire Period: 4 weeks (28 days)
Refundable Bond: $50.00
Hire Fee (Obi TENS): $40.00
Hire Fee (Elle TENS): $50.00
Additional Week (7 days): $10.00

Bond Return: The refundable bond return will be issued within 5 business days once the TENS unit has been returned clean, complete and undamaged, to the card used for payment. Additional processing time may apply for card payments.

2. What’s Included in Your Hire

Each hire includes:

• Elle or Obi TENS handset

• 4 brand new, medical-grade, TGA-approved electrode pads

• New batteries

• Lead wires

• Lanyard

• Quickstart Guide

• Full TENS Instructions for Use

Electrode pad brand may vary depending on availability. Refunds are not issued for alternative brands.

3. Contraindications and Precautions

A TENS machine must not be used:

• Before 37 weeks of pregnancy unless approved by your midwife, obstetrician or care provider

• Over your abdomen

• If you have a cardiac pacemaker or known cardiac rhythm issues

• Over broken skin, a healing scar, or a new caesarean section wound

• When in the shower, bath or birth pool

4. Hirer Responsibilities

By hiring a TENS machine, the hirer agrees that:

1. The TENS machine will only be used by the person named on the hire form.

2. They have consulted their medical practitioner for appropriate approval.

3. They will follow all instructions provided and use the machine under suitable supervision.

4. The effectiveness of TENS cannot be guaranteed.

5. They will check the unit within 48 hours of collection to ensure it is functioning properly.

6. If a fault is reported within 48 hours of collection, a replacement or refund will be offered.

7. Faults reported after 48 hours may be considered hirer damage and may incur repair or replacement costs.

8. Return of the TENS unit is the responsibility of the hirer. If postage is required, tracked shipping must be used at the hirer’s cost.

5. Late Returns, Damage and Replacement Costs

• Hire is for 4 weeks unless additional time is arranged in advance.

• Additional hire time is charged at $10 per additional week, subject to availability.

• If the TENS unit is returned late, late fees will be deducted from the bond.

• Loss or theft of the unit will incur a replacement charge up to the full retail value (RRP $135–$199, depending on model).

• If the TENS unit is returned damaged, contaminated with body fluids, or with missing parts, additional fees for repair, cleaning or replacement may apply beyond the bond amount.

• No refund will be issued if the hirer chooses not to use the TENS machine or accessories during their hire period.

6. Liability and Indemnity

Mother Mother Doula (Sarah Del Borrello):

• Checks all TENS units prior to collection to ensure they are sanitised and in working order

• Does not guarantee the success, effectiveness or outcome of TENS use during labour

• Is not liable for any injury, adverse reaction, incident, loss or damage arising from the use or possession of the TENS machine or accessories

By hiring the unit, the hirer agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Mother Mother Doula (Sarah Del Borrello) from any liability, claim or loss that may arise from the use or possession of the TENS machine and its components.

7. Agreement

By proceeding with a TENS machine hire booking, the hirer confirms they have read, understood and agree to be bound by all terms and conditions outlined on this page.
