I feel so incredibly lucky to be a mum to my two wonderful girls.

But I feel even more lucky to have a mum like mine.

This is my mum, and she deserves the world. Not just for my own wonderful childhood, but also for my own motherhood and my kids’ childhood too.

With my husband working FIFO, my mum is the main person who steps in to support me and the kids, while he's away.

If you’ve ever worked with me, I can guarantee that at least part of that was possible because of my mum.

When I get called to attend a birth in the middle of the night, she jumps in her car, drives to my house, gets into my bed and snuggles the girls.

When I have a prenatal, postpartum visit or photoshoot and my husband is away, my kids are most likely with my mum.

When I’m having one of those days where I just need a break, she will spend an hour or so on the phone with me cheering me up, or pick up one of the kids if she can.

When my kids were babies, she spent many nights at my house just so I had help close by if I needed it. I don't think I've ever told her how much her silent presence in those long early nights meant, and the difference it made.

3 YEARS 🤯 of breastfeeding this crazy little kiddo.

I loved being her comfort, the connection and the quiet moments together. But for the last few months I started wishing she would wean.

Eventually I bit the bullet, explained that my boobies had run out of milk and they needed to heal. She picked me out some Pokemon bandaids and stuck them on my nipples, and that was the end...

📸 A few days before I organised a shoot with the amazing Abbi from @3echoesdoula_abbidphotogrpahy to celebrate our journey.

I'm so proud of our journey, it was bloody hard work! 💪🏼🍈🍈💪🏼
